‘Nimaan’ is a Punjabi word which means humble. Nimaan A Humble Voice was established in 2021 as a motivational platform for people in Hindi or Punjabi languages. The core of Indian culture is to be humble. Through our services, we aim to help our people strengthen humility and achieve success with its foundation.

In 2024, Nimaan A Humble Voice was registered as a legal charity in New Zealand to empower migrants of Indian backgrounds. At Nimaan, we are committed to empowering migrants as they transition into life in New Zealand. Our mission is to advance education and promote personal and professional growth by providing a range of tailored programs and support services.

Our leadership training programs and workshops are designed to equip migrants with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate their new environment with confidence. We offer educational sessions on local and broader New Zealand communities, helping participants understand cultural norms and societal expectations. Through our workshops and personalised coaching, we support migrants in developing essential skills for greater independence and self-sufficiency.

Our services extend to job readiness, with focused training in language skills, employment preparation, and job search strategies to bridge cultural gaps in the job market. We believe that cultural understanding is essential for success, so we offer workshops on New Zealand culture and workplace dynamics, as well as guidance on local expectations.

Beyond practical skills, we aim to foster overall well-being by helping migrants maintain their cultural connections while embracing Kiwi life. We provide support in settlement, offering resources on local customs, values, and norms to ease the transition and build a sense of belonging.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to supporting migrants in their journey to becoming confident, connected members of New Zealand’s vibrant community.
