Work Readiness Programme


If you are an Indian migrant who has lived in Aotearoa New Zealand for ten years or less, you can avail of this programme consisting of a workshop followed by up to three personalized coaching sessions.

The expected outcome is that attendees will gain a strong understanding of the New Zealand job market and acquire the skills needed to confidently pursue employment. They will learn to adapt to Kiwi work culture, create compelling CVs and cover letters, identify job opportunities, and excel in interviews. This preparation aims to enhance their confidence, cultural adaptability, and overall employability, positioning them for success in the New Zealand workforce.

Eligibility criteria: Any Indian migrant who moved to NZ within the last ten years and has legal work rights, along with a genuine intention to look for work.

Structure of the programme: A workshop delivered in one full day or two half days followed by three hourly career coaching sessions.
Duration: Three months

Kia Ora Orientation

Our cultural orientation programme provides key insights into Kiwi culture, focusing on social norms, workplace expectations, and other services available locally. Through interactive sessions, participants learn to navigate cultural differences and similarities, building confidence in professional and personal interactions. We also connect migrants with local organizations and community networks, supporting a positive transition and fostering a sense of belonging in New Zealand.

Eligibility criteria: Any Indian migrant who moved to NZ within the last twelve months whose preferred language to communicate is English, Hindi or Punjabi. There is no visa requirement.

Structure of the programme: A workshop followed by a personal consultation session.
Duration: One month

Nimaan ton Nirmaan (Self-empowerment) Programme

Our self-empowerment program is designed to foster emotional well-being, self-awareness, and humility as essential tools for personal growth. Using principles from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Intelligence (EQ), the program guides participants in recognizing thought patterns and emotional traps that may impact their lives. Emphasizing humility, we encourage individuals to approach challenges with openness and a willingness to learn, fostering stronger connections and resilience. Through some exercises, attendees develop practical tools for managing emotions, cultivating positive thinking, and applying insights both in the workshop and in their daily lives, empowering them to build a balanced, grounded mindset for their journey in New Zealand.

Eligibility criteria: Any Indian migrant who is based in Christchurch regardless of their work status. The minimum age to attend this programme is 18 years. Due to limited resources, we accept participants in this programme who can communicate in English, Hindi or Punjabi.
